“It has been long time since Fazl is chairman of the Kashmir committee, however no progress could be made on Kashmir issue at national or international level,” he said during a meeting with former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gillani at his residence.

To a query, he said favoritism would not be accepted in formation of election commission and such an impartial election commission would be constituted which would benefit the coming generations.

He also said there was no hurdle from the opposition in formation of Terms of Reference (ToRs) on Panama Leaks issue. He said the opposition had become ready to remove Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s name from the ToRs, however the PM himself had twice presented for accountability in his addresses to the nation.

Khursheed Shah said Pakistan People’s Party believed in the policy of reconciliation and did not want to take to streets.

On the other hand, Fazl has convened a meeting of the Parliament’s Special Committee on Kashmir on Wednesday to take stock of the situation arising out of Indian brutalities in Indian held Kashmir, Radio Pakistan reported.

“Kashmir is a national issue and we all strongly condemn atrocities being committed by Indian occupation forces against innocent Kashmiris,” he said.
