Khursheed urges military for denial of Musharraf’s statement

ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Shah has urged the military to deny the statement given by former President General (R) Pervez Musharraf regarding treason trial against him – ARY News reports.

Talking to journalists here on Monday, Khursheed Shah said Pervez Musharraf is trying to act smart, whereas everyone shall be held accountable including the 'bat'.

He urged the Pakistan Army for a denial of the statement of Pervez Musharraf hoping for a possible backing by the military in treason trial against him.

Commenting of the performance of the Government, the Opposition Leader said that it has nothing left with it except boasting off.

He added that the processions used to be led by Shahbaz Sharif, are being baton charged by his government today.

Speaking about negotiations with Taliban, Shah said that besides the talks with Taliban, the Government also needs to be strong enough.

Earlier today, former President General (R) Pervez Musharraf had said that he has left the decision of supporting him in the treason trial up to the Army Chief.

During his interview to BBC, Musharraf said, "inside military, opinions are taken on every important issue, however the final decision is made by the Army Chief, so I leave it onto him either to support me or not".
