PESHAWAR: Security forces have lodged an operation in Khyber tribal region in search of 9 people who were abducted earlier today from the Mashokhel area of Peshawar – ARY News reports.
According to details, security forces faced strong resistance during their operation in Akakhel area of the Khyber Agency. An exchange of fire took place from both the sides, whereas forces arrested 200 suspected people from there.
Earlier today, unknown armed men had abducted 11 people from Mashokhel, out of which 2 were released, whilst 9 are still found missing.
Sources had reported that armed gunmen entered the Fakeer Kalley in Mashokhel area and abducted at least 11 tribesmen. The number of the gunmen is stated to be in between 60 to 70.
The kidnapped persons were known to be affiliated with Shinwari tribe.
