KARACHI: Killing spree remained unabated in Karachi despite targeted operation, as eleven killed and several got injured in different firing incidents on Sunday, ARY News reported.
According to police, unknown miscreants opened fire at Astana Mehran Shah in Baldia Town, area of Karachi killing five persons including two-year old girl while left 10 other people injured.
Heavy contingent of police, Rangers and rescue teams reached the spot. The incident caused the panic in the area.
In other incidents Imam of Masjid Nadeem Qadri was gunned down by unidentified miscreants in Amrohi Colony, Orangi Town while Basharat resident of Khairabad was shot dead.
A man was killed by bullet shots in Lyari while two persons got injured in Jhat Pat Market in a cracker attack.
On the other hand law enforcement personnel apprehended at least 34 suspects in ongoing targeted raids in the metropolis on Sunday conducting raids in different areas including New Karachi, SITE Metroville, Karimabad, Musarrat Colony, Pathan Colony, Frontier Colony, Zia Colony, Patel Para, Abdullah Shah Ghazi Goth, Golden Town, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Rabia City, areas near Millennium Mall and Bin Qasim Town.
A militant of banned terrorist outfit, elements affiliated with the gang war and extortionists were also among the arrested persons, weapons were also recovered from the arrested suspects, Rangers spokesman revealed.
