This was stated by the Foreign Office which said that the release was secured by the efforts of the embassy of Pakistan in Bahrain. It said that efforts were underway to repatriate the released prisoners with their families.
Foreign Office spokesman Nafees Zakaria said that Ambassador Javed Malik had personally visited the inmates in May 2016 and had took the matter with the authorities in Bahrain. He said that Pakistan appreciates the cooperation rendered by the authorities particularly the interior minister of Bahrain.
