Komal Rizvi's new music video, Tu Beh Gaya

TOP NEWS

Tu Beh Gaya marks the music video directorial debut of Azaan Sami Khan, producer and writer of acclaimed film Operation 021. The video features Komal dancing in slow, sensual and carefully choreographed steps, reflecting chemistry between the two dancers. At intervals, other shots portray Komal entering a house via a door, lip syncing the song as she faces the audience. In another elegant shot, a beautiful white stallion is captured trotting to and fro, surrounded by fields. Hassan Rizvi’s renowned choreography hasn’t lost its touch as Komal and Kazmi expertly sway from here to there like expert dancers. The words of the song mesh in completely with the choreographed steps, so hats off to both Hasan Rizvi and Azaan Sami Khan for visualizing the music video to perfection. According to a press release, the song is a “romantic and soulful number with dreamy lyrics that will make you want to fall in love all over again or for the first time.” The video has been shot at the Commune Artist Colony and Khalikdina Hall and Library.

Since starting her career as a vibrant 16 year old singer, Komal starred in a drama serial in the 90’s, titled ‘Hawayaiyan’. The show became a super-hit and made her a household name. She ventured to India and worked as a VJ for channel V. Her song Bao Ji received much praise and adulation for its catchy chorus and funky beat.

More recently, with the release of her song Chahiye, she has blown the dust off her mike and started singing again. Her Daanah Pe Daanah duet with folk singer Akhtar Chanal Zahri was a sensation and became one of the most popular songs from Coke Studio season 3. Komal featured in another song of Coke Studio when she crooned Washmallay in season 7, which yet again struck a chord with the audience and won her admiration.
