PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtonkhwa (KP) government has ordered data collection of 22 federal and provincial employees of Peshawar who hold dual nationalities, ARY News reported Thursday.
Following government action against dual nationals in other provinces, such persons are also likely to face the music in KP as well. According to government officials, it was discovered that some high-ups in provincial government departments were holders of dual nationalities.
The government has now issued directives for collection of data of all such officials to determine their positions in government departments.
The erstwhile PPP government had been under-fire for keeping dual nationals on key government posts in its tenure. The Supreme Court had disqualified various lawmakers from parliamentary memberships after they were discovered holding dual nationalities.
Most of them were later restored after filing appeals and clarifying their positions.
