KP govt to form commission on traders' killing

TOP NEWS

A couple of days ago, three traders were killed in clashes with police during the anti-encroachment drive at Peshawar’s Chowk Ghanta Ghar. Officials had arrived at the spot for clearing illegal constructions, at which the shopkeepers protested and clashed with police.

Police in order to disperse protesting traders and shop-owners resorted to aerial firing which led to a stampede over there, resulting in the killing of three traders after being crushed by the crane.

An eyewitness had stated that the driver of the crane fled away as soon as the incident took place.

The Information Minister KP, Mushtaq Ghani had also told ARY News that the crane-driver was responsible for the incident.

However, the KP government took notice of the incident on Sunday and announced to constitute a judicial commission to probe the killing of the traders.
