PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Government has taken notice of financial irregularities and out-of-turn promotions in Ayub Medical College Abbotabad and directed the Provincial Health Services Academy and Anti Corruption to present their reports after investigating the issue within 15 days – ARY News reports.
According to details, professors in the college have been promoted from Grade-18 to Grade-20 for past many years, while they were also not eligible for this. These professors continued to receive Basic Science Allowance, which sums up to several crore rupees.
A 2-member committee comprising of Dr Zaman Afridi and Dr Mehmood Alam kicked off the investigation from Thursday.
Former Principal Prof. Dr Abdur Rasheed, Vice-Principal Dental Department, Prof. Dr Abdul Wahid, Prof. Dr Irum Abbas, Prof. Dr Mairajullah, Prof. Dr Dilawar Khan, Prof. Dr Shamsheer Ali Khan and others have been alleged of financial irregularities and illegal promotions, which caused several crore rupees of loss to the treasury and so far these people have also not deposited illegally obtained allowances.
