KP Gov't will fix date for LB polls in February: CM KP

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Pervez Khattak has said that a mockery is being made in the name of Local Body (LB) elections, whilst the KP Government will fix a date for LB polls during next month – ARY News reports.

According to details, KP Government called a Jirgah of provincial ministers in Islamabad on the issue of power theft, in which financial and economic issues of the province were also discussed.

The Jirgah approved a 10 point resolution, demanding the center not to sideline KP and to resolve issues like the way in Punjab.

The CM KP, Pervez Khattak alleged that the Chief of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO), Tariq Sadozai is involved in electricity pilferage in the province and demanded the Federation to remove him from his post or the KP Government will arrest him.

The Chief Minister stated that the factories and mills are closed in the province and the people are forced to migrate.

Speaking about the LB elections, he said that the provincial government will fix a date for polls by the month of February and will inform the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

Khattak said that LB polls in KP will be conducted in March.
