KP to compensate parliamentarians who are victims of terrorism

This was stated by provincial minister for public health Shah Farman who said that the decision was taken in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pervez Khattak. It was decided that the heirs and family members of those parliamentarians who have lost their lives in acts of terrorism will be provided compensation of Rs10 million, a plot of land or alternatively Rs5.5 million, and their children will be provided free education till post-graduate level.

The cabinet also decided to pay the monthly rent of the house of slain minority parliamentarian Sardar Soran Singh who was killed on 22nd April in Buner.

Shah Farman also said that the cabinet meeting had approved the formation of P-Urban Development Authority to establish a mass transit system in the province. This will establish a transport system with modern amenities at the cost of Rs25 billion by 2018, which will be completed with monetary assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
