Shehbaz flies to London to bring back Kulsoom Nawaz’s body

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Mian Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday left for London to bring back his sister-in-law Kulsoom Nawaz’s dead body, ARY News reported.

The lady, who breathed her last in London on Tuesday, will have two separate funerals; one in London and one in Raiwind before her burial. Shehbaz is expected to fly back with her body to Lahore on Friday.

The former first lady’s funeral prayers will be offered in London’s Regent Park Islamic Center on Thursday after which Shehbaz Sharif will fly back to Lahore with her coffin.

Before burial, funeral prayers will be offered at Sharif family’s residence in Raiwind.

Her husband, Mian Nawaz Sharif, daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retired) Safdar have been released on parole to participate in Begum Kulsoom Nawaz’s funeral and burial ceremony.

Begum Kulsoom Nawaz passed away in London on Tuesday after a months-long battle with cancer.

The lady, who remained an active political worker till 2017, was battling throat cancer in London’s Harley Street Clinic.
