ISLAMABAD/LONDON: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate for NA-120 by-polls and wife for former premier Nawaz Sharif Begum Kulsoom Nawaz has been diagnosed with throat cancer, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
Kulsoom Nawaz, who is in London these days, has been told by doctors that her cancer is curable and the lady will undergo treatment in a clinic in London.
The lady is about to contest by-polls from the seat vacated by her husband and former premier Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification.
Sources now reveal that her daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif will run her election campaign and represent her in her absence.
The NA-120 seat, Lahore-III, fell vacant after the Supreme Court of Pakistan disqualified Nawaz Sharif as the premier of the country, and asked ECP to issue a notification removing him as a member of the National Assembly.
