LAHORE: Police arrested a bride over allegedly being involved in a shooting incident which injured her bridegroom, ARY News reported on Monday.
Imran, – a resident of Nawan Kot area, was returning home with his newly married wife, Zehra, on Sunday night after their wedding when the gunmen – on two motorcycles- opened fire at them in Shafiqabad area of the city.
The bridegroom sustained bullet wounds and was rushed to Mayo Hospital for treatment, where his condition is said to be critical.
Police stated that bride, Zehra, was unhappy over her marriage with Imran and wanted to marry someone else of her choice.
Police arrested the bride suspecting her involvement in the shooting incident and has filed an attempt-to-murder case on the complaint of the father of the bridegroom.
