Lahore: Fire in commercial plaza extinguished; CM takes notice

LAHORE: A fire erupted in a multi-storey commercial plaza near Kalma Chowk was successfully doused by the fire fighting teams. No loss of life reported in the incident, ARY News reported Tuesday.

The fire fighting teams rescued six persons who were trapped in a building. Around seven fire tenders and Rescue 1122 teams took part in the operation to extinguish the fire.

Six offices at the sixth floor of plaza were destroyed in the wake of fire.

According to initial reports, an leakage of gas through LPG cylinder prompted the fire across the fourth floor of the building.

Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has sought report of the incident.
