Lahore: Relatives protest as shopkeeper dies allegedly due to police torture

According to details, a shopkeeper was allegedly killed as a result of police brutality which sparked a protest by the relatives of the victim as well as residents of the area. People took to the streets in the city’s Naulakha area and blocked the road by burning tyres in protest. However, police have refuted all such claims against it and said 45 year-old Ayub died as a result of a heart attack.

In another separate incident, motorcyclists shot at police officials when they were asked to stop at a checkpost. Police retaliated and killed three men, who were identified as Ali Ninety, Hamza and Adeel. This incident occurred within the precincts of Iqbal Town police station.
