LB elections: ECP expresses reservations on biometric systems in KP
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has expressed its reservation on the use of biometric systems in the Local Body (LB) elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) – ARY News reports.
Sources told that the ECP has informed the KP Government about its reservations.
The ECP stated that it is difficult to introduce biometric systems in the province before the coming by-elections, at least 50,000 trained people are required for this purpose and if an error occurs in the system during the LB polls then the entire polling process can come to a halt.
The ECP has also raised several questions on the use, lookafter and data safety of these machines.
