ISLAMABAD: The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has formed the delimitations regarding the Local Body (LB) elections in the province, whilst the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan has directed the KP Government to make final arrangements for the polls within a month – ARY News reports.
According to details, a three member SC bench, headed by the Chief Justice (CJ) Tassaduq Hussain Jillani heard the case regarding LB elections in KP.
During the hearing, Advocate General KP, Lateef Yousufzai told that the provincial government has formed the LB delimitations, whilst a notification of rules and regulations pertaining to LB polls has also been issued and the SC verdict of March 10 is acted upon too.
At this, the SC directed the KP Government to finalize the electoral preparations within a month.
The Advocate General KP informed the court that a decision by the sc regarding LB delimitations in Sindh and Punjab, is being awaited.
To this, the Chief Justice advised him to get the electoral preparation done in KP, till then the verdict on Sindh and Punjab delimitations will also be announced.
Moreover, the hearing of the case was adjourned for a month's period.
