LB polls in Sindh, Punjab feared to be delayed again

ISLAMABAD: Local Body (LB) elections in Sindh and Punjab are feared to be postponed again till the mid of February – ARY News reports.

According to details, the LB polls seem to be uncertain once again.

Sources within the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday claimed that there is a possibility that the LB elections will be delayed as the ECP has decided to consult the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan in this regard.

It was further told that there were some issued pertaining to the printing of ballot papers and it is not possible to print the papers in such a bulk quantity in due time.

The ECP will request the SC to grant at least 15 more days for the printing of ballot papers and the polls are expected to be delayed up to the mid of February, coming year.
