LEAs arrests six target killers from Lahore

LAHORE: Law enforcing agencies nabbed six members of an outlawed group from Lahore, involved in sectarian violence, ARY News reports on Friday.

Speaking in a press conference, CCPO Lahore Chaudhry Shafiq Ahmed said that six killers identified as Abdul Rauf Gujjar, Sabir Shah, Shaikh Farhan Rafiq, Shafaqat Farooqi, Mohammad Hashim and Salman Pathan were arrested after their target killing network was tracked.

Chaudhry Shafiq Ahmed said that the arrested persons have confessed of killing Shakir Ali Rizvi, Masood Abid Naqvi, Dr. Syed Ali Haider and his son Murtaza, Khurram Raza Qadri, Maulana Shams-ul-Rehman Muaavia and Allama Nasir Abbas.  

CCPO claimed that the arrested criminals used to kill on the orders of Malik Ishaq. He added that journalists, LEAs and religious figures were included in their hit list.

"Security men will continue to perform their duties without any fear", Shafiq said. "People involved in sectarian violence are not subjected to any concessions", he added.

Chaudhry Shafiq Ahmed said that the supporters and leaders of terrorist factions have to be arrested for peace in the country and for the protection of the life and property of its citizens.
