COAS strong-willed for success of Karachi operation

KARACHI: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has said Karachi operation will continue without any discrimination against all criminals, beyond political, religious and sectarian affinity in the city, ARY News reported.

The law enforcement agencies (LEAs) will go to any lengths to make Karachi operation a success, the COAS stated this during his visit to the Corps Headquarters today in Karachi.

In his remarks, he said peace in Karachi means prosperity for Pakistan and meaningful efforts are required in this regard. The Army Chief said Karachi played great role in our economy.

He said Rangers operation had created environment for sustained peace and stability. “Police should be empowered as apolitical and effective force,” he added.

Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited Corps headquarters in Karachi on Monday and held meeting with Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif.

DG ISI and Corps Commander were also present on the occasion.
