Legal framework an essential for security agencies, mentions Nisar
KARACHI: Federal Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that law and order is a national issue and the motive of his visit to Karachi was to review the worsening circumstances here. He added that the security agencies will have to work within a legal framework – ARY News reports.
Talking to journalists at Quaid e Azam International Airport, Karachi, Chaudhry Nisar said that the circumstances in the metropolis have been deteriorating for the past few weeks, whilst Karachi issue is difficult and complicated.
He stressed that the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) will have to work remaining in a legal framework.
Commenting on recent terrorist attack here and the ongoing negotiations with militants, the Interior Minister stated that dialogue and terrorist activities cannot move parallel to each other.
He added that two important meetings to review the law and order situation, are yet to be held, whereas an improvement has been observed in the operations of intelligence agencies (IAs).
Yesterday, the Interior Minister had chaired some important meetings pertaining to Karachi law and order, he also listened to the reservations of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) regarding the ongoing targeted operations in the metropolis.
