LESCO officials arrested over corruption charges
LAHORE: Arshad Rafiq and Mehboob Ali, Chief Executive Officer and former Director of Operation of Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), have been arrested by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on corruption charges, ARY News reports.
According to NAB sources, the two persons have been accused of corruption in buying transformers and to not carry out load shedding in industries after taking bribes.
They have also been suspected for taking bribes for the upgrades in factory connections and buying sub-standard material.
Sources have reported that it is a mega scandal and other involved officers will soon be arrested.
