RAWALPINDI: On the eve of Pakistan Day, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday issued a special message for the entire nation, ARY News reported.

COAS, in his message, has urged the nation to take a pledge of supporting Pakistan Army against terrorists and making country peaceful by uprooting the menace of terrorism.

“We took pledge of creating a separate homeland for Muslims on March 23, 1940 and we succeeded. Pakistan is our country and its time to take a pledge of making it peaceful”, he said in his brief video message.

The Pakistan Day is celebrated each year by the nation on March 23 to commemorate the historic Lahore resolution that was passed on the same day in 1940, calling for a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent. An important development in the politics of that era, the Pakistan Resolution (as it became known subsequently) was an important step towards the creation of Pakistan.

Moreover, at the Pakistan Day parade tomorrow (on Thursday), Chinese and a Turkish military band will be featured, Pakistan Army’s media wing announced earlier this month.

During the parade, Pakistan will showcase its military might and warfare capabilities.

Last month the Army launched its latest military operation Radd-ul-Fasaad to consolidate the gains of the previous military campaign and to ensure decisive elimination of terrorism in the country.
