LG polls: Hundreds of candidates elected unopposed in Punjab, Sindh

According to details, four Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) candidates were elected as Chairman and Vice Chairman unopposed from Lahore whereas 64 candidates were elected as counsellors.

Two chairmen and vice chairmen were elected unopposed from Faisalabad whereas 166 candidates became counselors unopposed from the city.

As many as 62 candidates were elected as counsellors — of them, 44 from Gujrat and 18 from Chakwal.

While, 707 candidates, majority of them belonging to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), were elected unopposed from eight districts of Sindh.

In a breakdown, 29 candidates were elected from Sukkur, 53 Khairpur, 189 Ghotki, 128 Jacobabad, 118 Kashmore, 50 Qambar Shahdadkot, 38 Larkana and 92 from Shikarpur have been elected unopposed.
