LHC declare void notification of doctors removal

TOP NEWS

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) declared Punjab Government's notification of removing 250 doctors as void on Tuesday (today), ARY News reports.

The case was heard by Justice Khalid Mehmood. Lawyer representing the doctors informed the court that the provincial government had demanded the affidavit of not travelling abroad and marry the nationals of foreign court, which is illegal.

The lawyer further told the court that Punjab Government does not hold the right to demand such oaths nor Pakistan Dental & Medical Council (PMDC) allows it. The provincial government dismissed 250 doctors when they did not submit the document.

Court outlawed the notification and ordered the doctors to resume their duties within ten days. However, the case regarding the affidavits is still pending. The orders will be issued after the verdict is announced.
