LHC grants bail to LeJ chief, Malik Ishaq

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has granted bail to Malik Ishaq, chief of banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) earlier today – ARY News reports.

According to details, the LHC approved bail plea of Malik Ishaq on Thursday and directed him to deposit 2 different security bonds worth of Rs 2 lac each.

Malik Ishaq was arrested due to 2 different lawsuits against him for making provocative speeches that could spread a chaos among the masses.

Earlier on February 7, the United States (US) had designated Malik Ishaq, the chief of proscribed militant group LeJ of Pakistan, in its list of most wanted international terrorists.

“The Department of State had designated Ishaq as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist under Executive Order (E.O.) 13224,” mentioned a statement issued by the US State Department.
