LHC hands over abandoned children to mother

TOP NEWS

A LHC bench heard the petition filed by the two children Umar and Amna that their parents were not willing to keep them.

Seema, the mother of the two children, appeared in the hearing on Friday and tearfully told the court that the allegations that she was not keeping the children are untrue. She added that she wants to keep the children but cannot do so due to financial reasons.

LHC bench ordered the grandfather to pay Rs.6000/- each to the two children monthly whereas human rights lawyer Asma Jahangir provided the financial aid to the mother.

The court remarked that the government did not take any step for improving the lives of common people and they have to survive on crumbs.

LHC handed over the children to their mother Seema and adjourned the case till 14th January. The bench has ordered the authorities to present their father in the next hearing.

The two children, speaking to media after the hearing, expressed their happiness over the verdict and said that they want to live with their mother.
