LAHORE: A bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday summoned the reply of the Ministry of Law over a petition of the former Army Chief General Ziauddin Butt, ARY News reported.
A single bench of the LHC comprises of Justice Ijaz ul Hassan heard a petition of the former COAS Ziauddin Butt for restoration of his priviliges as the Army Chief.
The counsel of the petitioner in his arguments said that the Supeme Court has declared the steps of the former military strongman Pervez Musharraf as null and void but still the privileges of his client as a former Army Chief had not been restored and his confiscated property not returned him back.
Deputy Attorney General requested for more time for the submission of the law ministry's reply.
General Butt's counsel pleaded to the learned court that the ministry of law deliberately lingering on the case due to which the reply has not been filed in the court after several hearings.
The court issued notice to the ministry of law for reply on June 19th.
