LHC issues stay against auction of sacked Army Chief’s property

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) while issuing stay against the auction of the property of sacked Army Chief, General (R) Ziauddin Butt, has given a last chance to the Federal Government to submit its reply pertaining to the case by January 27 – ARY News reports.

According to details, Jutice Aijaz ul Hassan resumed the hearing of the case on Monday in which Ziauddin Butt explained to the court that the Federal Government constitutionally appointed him as the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) in 1999, however General (R) Pervez Musharraf unlawfully removed him and confiscated his property, while he has also not been given pension and amenities as an Army Chief since then.

The petitioner stated that the Government is now selling out his property and requested the LHC to prevent the auction.

At this, the LHC issued a stay order against the auction of the property of Ziauddin Butt and gave a last chance to the current Federal Government to submit its resume in the court by January 27.
