LHC seeks govt reply on ‘extra charges’ in electricity bills
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has sought reply of the government in a petition against collection of fuel adjustment charges in electricity bills, ARY News reported Wednesday.
The LHC issued notice to the federal government and National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) and other respondents and sought their replies on June 3.
The petitioner contended that fuel adjustment charges were imposed on consumers through Finance Bill, which he said was illegal.
He said government was not authorized to collect fuel adjustment charges without amending the Nepra rules.
