Messi’s two goals eased Barcelona with a 4-0 win over Getafe
Star footballer Lionel Messi scored twice on his return after two months in the match against Getafe in Copa del Rey on Wednesday, ARY News reported.
The two goals from Argentine captain helped Barcelona to crush opponents (Getafe) by 4-0.
Cesc Fabregas had already put Barca 2-0 up by the time Messi. But the Argentina star added a late double of his own to ensure his side take an ominous lead into the second leg.
Messi almost set up Pedro minutes after joining the action but he soon found the back of the net himself, pouncing on a loose ball after Martin Montoya ran into trouble.
The returning star added his second three minutes later, in the third minute of stoppage time, when he raced onto Alex Song's through-ball.
Messi, who made his comeback in Wednesday’s match, wasn't played since tearing his left hamstring on Nov. 10, his fourth leg injury last year. He returned to training with Barcelona last week after recovering in Argentina.
Earlier, Barcelona lost its only two games of the season without Messi, but it has managed to hold onto a share of the Spanish league lead with Atletico Madrid.
