Google has unveiled the annual Year in Search which highlights the top searches in Pakistan in the outgoing year 2017.

Google’s Year in Search provides a snapshot of the trends, people, and happenings that captures the nation’s interest during the year.

Below is the list of most googled persons of 2017 in Pakistan.

The worldwide searches also include Bitcoin. DACA. Monkey selfies. Jeremy Lin’s hair. Do-it-yourself eclipse glasses. Tom Petty’s death. National anthem protests in the NFL.

So what does trending” in the world of Google even mean? Simon Rogers, a data journalist and data editor at Google, explains: “We take a sample of the trillions of Google searches, because it would otherwise be too large to process quickly.

By sampling our data, we can look at a dataset representative of all Google searches, while finding insights that can be processed within minutes of an event happening in the real world.”

Here are the top 10 worldwide searches on Google this year:

The top six names in the People category included four men publicly disgraced over sexual-harassment allegations, plus President Trump’s former national security adviser, who has pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI.
