England thrash Pakistan by 84 runs to clinch series

England won the toss and chose to bat first.

The English side scored a daunting 355/5 in their 50 overs thanks to centuries by opener Jason Roy and Jos Buttler.

Jos Buttler scored an unbeaten 116 runs from 52 balls which included 10 boundaries and eight sixes whereas Jason Roy made 102 runs from 117 balls with the help of eight fours and a six.

Joe Root contributed 71 runs with the bat.

Anwar Ali was the most expensive bowler for Pakistan as he conceded 75 runs from nine overs.

Mohammad Irfan and Azhar Ali took two wickets for Pakistan whereas Yasir Shah dismissed one batsman.

The green shirts require 356 runs from 50 overs with required run rate 7.12 runs per over to level the four match series.

In reply, the green shirts were dismissed after scoring 271 runs on the board in 40.4 overs.

Shoaib Malik was the top scorer for the team as he made 52 runs from 34 balls with the help of three fours and two sixes. Babar Azam scored 51 runs from 51 balls which included five fours and a six.

Azhar Ali contributed 44 runs whereas Mohammad Hafeez made 37 runs.

Spinners Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali grabbed three wickets each while David Willey and Reece Topley dismissed two and one batsmen respectively.

Jos Buttler was named the Player of the match and Player of the series.
