Load shedding to end by 2017: Abid Sher

ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali has said that the Federal Government has chosen six locations for the construction of six new atomic plants in the country, ARY News reports.

While speaking at Korean and South Asian Power Forum here on Wednesday, Abid Sher Ali said that the country has a capacity to produce 60,000 MW of power. The forum will assist Pakistan to introduce investment in the energy sector, he added.

He also claimed that load shedding will be finished by 2017.

The State Minister further said that the country is facing the worst energy crises and is badly affecting the nation along with the economy. The Government is taking short and long period steps for controlling the problem.

Special parks and hydroelectric plants will soon be initiated, Abid Sher claimed.
