LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Raja Muhammad Basharat on Sunday said the notification had been issued for the appointment of administrators under the new local bodies system, ARY News reported.
Talking to media persons in Lahore, Raja Basharat said, ”The implementation teams will work on cabinet committee, divisional and district levels.”
He said the administrators will continue to work at the divisional and district level till the election of new local bodies. He said the Punjab local bodies minister will head the cabinet committee, which will supervise the complete process and issue key directives.
In Punjab, all local bodies have been dissolved after the promulgation of new local bodies act in the province.
The provincial minister said the additional chief secretary would be the head of the provincial team. While, head of the divisional and district teams would be relevant commissioner and deputy commissioner.
“The teams will ensure fast implementation under transition plan,” he said.

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar had ratified the Punjab Local Government Bill, 2019 on May 4.
Speaking on the occasion, he had said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led provincial government was fulfilling the promise it had to the people to devolve powers to the lower-tiers of administration.
“We are empowering the public in line with vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan” Sarwar had said, adding local government representatives will now enjoy powers in true sense.
He had said serving the masses is a focal point of the PTI manifesto.
