KARACHI: Local Body candidate of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Wajahat Hussain Naqvi was killed on Tuesday in a cracker attack at University Road, Karachi while his driver got injured, ARY News reported.
Unknown militants riding on a motorbike attacked with a cracker on the car of Wajahat Naqvi on the Silver Jubilee gate of Karachi University and fled away. As the result of attack Wajahat Naqvi killed on the spot and his driver Allah Wasayu got wounded who later shifted to a private hospital located at Stadium Road.
According to Police, victim Wajhat Hussain was working in a private bank and also the secretary of Allama Talib Johari.
Spokesmen of MQM informed that Wajahat Hussain was the MQM contestant for UC Nazim of Rizvia 2.
Meanwhile, MQM Leader Haider Abbass Rizvi said that another candidate of MQM for local body elections have been killed asking the concerned authorities to investigate the issue to reveal the culprits involved behind the attack.
