Local Councils vote in 20 districts of Sindh and Punjab on Oct 31

The polling for the first phase of the grassroot elections will be held in eight districts of Sindh and 12 districts of Punjab on this Saturday.

Local bodies polls will be held in eight northern districts of Sindh including Sukkur, Khairpur, Ghotki, Larkana, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Kashmore and Qambar.

The 12 districts in Punjab that will go to the polls in the first phase, are Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Chakwal, Bhakkar, Nankana Sahib, Kasur, Pakpattan, Okara, Lodhran, Vehari and Bahawalnagar.

The voters will elect their representatives for District Councils, union councils, municipal councils and municipal committees.

According to a statement of the election commission, the arrangements have been finalized for the local government elections and ballot papers have been handed over to the provinces.

The ECP has also informed the voters that they can check their polling station details by sending CNIC number on 8300.

The election commission has extended voting time to 10 hours as the polling will open at 7:30 am to continue till 5:30 pm without any break.

The second and third phases of local councils elections will be held on October 19 and December 05 respectively.
