Talking to journalists at Khalid Aviation Base, Lt. Gen. Nasir Khan Janjua told that 6 terrorists each tried to wage an attack on the two bases, however due to timely action of the security forces, both the attacks failed at the outer walls of the bases.
He told that all the 12 attackers at both the spots, were killed as result of firing and explosion of suicide vests they were wearing.
The Commander Southern Command told that 14 people including the security forces personnel were injured during ambush with attackers.
Moreover, he referred to the incident as a reaction of operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan.
