KARACHI: A key member of Lyari gang war was killed and two other accused were injured in a police encounter in Lyari, ARY News reported on Monday.
The police on an intelligence report conducted raid in Musa Lane area of Lyari. The gang members opened indiscriminate fire while seeing the police party. In counter fire of the police a key accused of Lyari gang war Ghaffar Niazi was killed, while two other accused were injured.
Police also captured grenades, walkie-talkie set and large quantity of munitions.
According to police sources, the accused were involved in murder, attempt to murder and other heinous crimes.
In Nazimabad number two area an ASI of police was killed in the firing of robbers. A dacoit was also injured in police firing but they escaped from the crime scene.
