GUJRANWALA: Ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz on Friday lauded the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N)’s social media team for creating massive propaganda on social media in favor of her father.

“The way you have fought and advocated the case of Nawaz Sharif, you have made his opponents bite the dust,” she said while addressing workers convention in Gujranawala.

Taking a jab at judges on this occasion, she said “the vindictive court” had failed to find witnesses against Nawaz Sharif.

“The conspirators had thought differently but masses have crippled their plans. They had thought that Nawaz would sit down at home following his disqualification and a technocrat setup will take place instead of balloting, however the people failed attempts of the plotters,” she said.

She dared the courts to punish Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and former president Pervez Msuharraf for dishonoring judiciary and judges.

Maryam wondered if any court had the courage to summon Musharraf who had locked children of 60 judges at their homes. She alleged that the former dictator had dragged the then chief justice by pulling from hairs.

She dared the courts to put Imran behind bars for one month and disqualify for five years for allegedly using foul language against judiciary for the last several years.

“As our leaders are being summoned in contempt of court cases, I would like to ask is there any punishment for contempt of the constitution, ballots and parliament,” she asked pointing towards disqualification of Nawaz Sharif in Panama case.

It is apropos to mention that the Lahore High Court on Wednesday issued notices to a number of PML-N leaders including Nawaz and Maryam on a petition seeking action against them for issuing ‘anti-judiciary’ statements. While, former PML-N leader Nehal Hashmi has been disqualified for five years and sentenced to one month in prison, while the court also summoned PML-N’s Talal Chaudhry.

Daughter of Nawaz Sharif said her father was unmoved by the conspiracies.

“When opponents are busy in hatching conspiracies one after another, Nawaz is formulating agenda for next five years,” she said adding that it had been 30 years since the opponents had failed to defeat Nawaz in political arena.
