KARACHI: A massive power breakdown has hit many areas of Karachi depriving a huge population of of electricity, ARY News reported.
According to details, a number of areas including Defence Housing Society’s Phase One, Malir, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Kemari, Mehmoodabad, North Nazimabad and North Karachi are facing power outage since last hour.
Moreover, the power breakdown has also affected some parts of the city’s red zone as Governor House and CM House also plunged into darkness.
City’s electric supplier, K-Electric has said that an Extra High Tension (EHT) lines’ tripping has caused the power breakdown in the city.
The 500 kV transmission line connecting KE to the National Grid has tripped. This has had a rollover effect on Karachi’s electric supply due to which various parts of the city are experiencing an Outage. (1/2)
