Malala stresses on female literacy for progress

PESHAWAR: Pakistan’s Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousufzai has said that female literacy is important for the society’s development, ARY News reports.

Malala Yousufzai, addressing a ceremony in her honor in Peshawar via videolink , said that change can only be brought in the country if people raise their voice for rights.

She also said that women are subject of torture in many countries of the world. She added that women were denied the right to vote but now they can cast their votes in elections.

“It is my wish that every child goes to school and have a book and pen in their hand”, she said.
