Malala Yousafzai, the Nobel laureate who adores Bollywood
Malala Yusufzai might be the winner of a Nobel Peace award but she’s human just like the rest of us, nonetheless. As she had revealed earlier before on the Ellen DeGeneres show, Malala indulges in fights with her brother and likes to watch cricket as well as Bollywood flicks. Who would’ve though that the 18 year-old likes Indian rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh’s music and absolutely adores Shah Rukh Khan?
“I love listening to peppy music – rap by Honey Singh. I also watch films with my friends and go to restaurants. The last movie I loved was Bajrangi Bhaijaan. I clapped non-stop when the film got over,” she said, in an interview to an Indian daily.
Malala also stated that she enjoyed the humour from Aamir Khan’s mega-hit blockbuster Pk. When asked when was the last time she laughed out loud, this is what Malala said:-
“When I watched Pk. The toilet humour was just too much. I’m laughing even thinking about it.”
It was then time for the teenager to gush about her favourite Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
“I think Shah Rukh Khan possesses some kind of a Midas touch. Whatever he does is absolutely perfect. I love all the films that I have seen of him, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge being an all-time favourite,” she said in response to a question.
Malala Yusufzai also stated how she loved to watch cricket and was appreciative of Shahid Afridi’s sense of style.
“I like to watch cricket. Sachin Tendulkar’s straight drive was a pleasure to watch. I loved Shahid Afridi’s style very much.”
Malala also said that she used to love watching Indian soaps when she used to live in Swat.
“I used to watch all serials and loved them when I was in the SWAT region. But in the UK, there’s no time to follow serials. I feast on movies whenever I can. Back then, I used to enjoy dramas and cried along with the actors.”
