Malaysain Defence Chief calls on COAS, CJCSC

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Malaysia, General Tan Sri Dato Sri Haji Zulkifeli bin Mohd Zin called on General Raheel Sharif, Chief of Army Staff and General Rashad Mahmood, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee separately on Monday, ARY News has learnt.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the meeting with Gen. Raheel Shareef, issues of mutual interest including defence and security cooperation between both the countries and overall regional security situation were discussed.

Malaysian Chief of Defence Staff appreciated successes of Operation Zarb-e- Azb and paid rich tributes to sacrifices rendered by Pakistan Army in fight against terrorism, ISPR stated.

Meanwhile, during meeting with General Rashad Mahmood, matters related to security situation and professional interest with an emphasis on mutual cooperation between the two Armed Forces was discussed. It was also reiterated that the already existing collaboration will be further enhanced.

General Tan Sri Dato appreciated the sacrifices rendered by Armed Forces of Pakistan in eliminating the menace of terrorism. He also praised the commitment and resolve displayed by the people of Pakistan despite multiple challenges.

Earlier on his arrival at Joint Staff Headquarters he was presented a guard of honour by a smartly turned out contingent of tri-services.
