The list of 10 most popular travel destinations for Muslims was compiled by MasterCard-Crescent which are as follows:

  1. Malaysia:

Who doesn’t like to see the Crystal Mosque and Petronas Towers? The mosque was constructed with steel and glass which gives it a crystal like look. It is also the first worship place which offers Wi-Fi facilities for the worshippers to have access to the Holy Quran.

Malaysian Grand Prix also held in the country which thousands of people attend every year.

  1. Turkey:

Although, Turkey claims itself to be a secular country, the country is one of the most popular travel destinations for Muslim followers. Some of the world’s beautiful mosques are located in the country whereas travels can spend holidays in some of the most exotic locations.

  1. United Arab Emirates

The country was built on a desert but it has become one of the most popular holiday destinations after the Shaikhs transformed the country into a hot spot for tourists and travellers thanks to the revenue earned by oil.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) holds its bi-lateral and tri-series in the UAE as well whereas the country is known for cars as well.

  1. Saudi Arabia:

Every year, billions of followers go to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj and Umrah. Apart from religious sites, Saudi Arabia offers several historical locations to visit such as Abu Lawha which is the largest Nabataean tomb at the desert archaeological site of Madain Saleh, located in Ula city near Riyadh.

Qatar Tourism Authority had stated that the number of visitors for the Gulf countries had increased by three percent in 2014 increasing the number to 1.12 million while 782,904 visitors came from Asia.

Its government plans to increase spending in education, sports and the country’s “beach assets”. The country will also host the 2022 FIFA World Cup as well.

  1. Indonesia:

Indonesia is said to have the highest population of Muslims in the world so it is of no surprise that the followers of the religion will prefer to travel to the country.

You can visits many historical sites or simply take a walk on the Mughsail Beach when visiting the country. When touring Oman, don’t forget to taste their local delicacies and visit the Sultan Qaboos Mosque.

Jordan, officially named the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, offers a variety of hot spots for tourists to visit. Petra, known for its splendour ruins, was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Other sites include The Rainbow Street on which the visitors can take a walk,  Nymphaeum, Ammonite-era watchtower and Darat al Funun.
