Mamnoon addresses Parliament’s joint session amid ‘Go Nawaz Go’ slogans
ISLAMABAD: Amid strong protest and chanting of anti-government slogans President Mamnoon Hussain addressed a joint session of the parliament in Islamabad on Thursday.
The president was all praise for the economic policies of the PML-N government saying these policies would push the economy ahead in the right direction and called upon all the political parties to acknowledge them as a coherent economic agenda to be followed by all governments in the future.
As the joint session went underway the opposition parties rose in their chairs and chanted anti-government and ‘Go Nawaz Go’ slogans.
President Mamnoon said the State Bank of Pakistan and other international organizations had commended the government’s economic policies.
He reiterated that Kashmir issue was an unfinished agenda of the partition and should be resolved in line with the resolutions of the United Nations.
Condemning the massive blast that ripped through the provincial capital of Afghanistan killing over 90 people and wounding hundreds, Mamnoon said the Pakistani people and government share the pain of Afghanistan and its people and added that peace in the region was not possible without peace in Afghanistan.
