DUSHANBE: President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday held a one-on-one meeting with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon to discuss matters of mutual interest.
A ceremony was held at Dushanbe to formally welcome Mr. Hussain on his visit to Tajikistan. The Tajik president greeted his counterpart at Qasr-e-Millat.
National anthems of the two countries were played and guard of honour was presented to President Hussain.
Later, both the leaders had one-on-one meeting to discuss matters concerning mutual interests of the two countries.
Mr Hussain will lead a Pakistani delegation at the high level two-day conference on the “International Decade for Action, Water for Sustainable Development” beginning in Dushanbe on Wednesday.
The conference being hosted by Tajikistan in cooperation with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs and other partners, will focus on sustainable development and integrated management of water resources for the achievement of social, economic and environmental objectives.
