Man arrested in Lahore for facilitating Daesh
The police arrested one Mehar Hamid of charges of allegedly sending 11 people to Syria to combat “enemies”.
The law enforcers also reached his area where denizens told that Mehar was missing for couple of months and his house was also locked.
The suspect’s wife is also believed to be involved in delivering lectures supporting extremism and terrorism, said a source.
The arrested man also has a charge to steal key data. Police said further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, Foreign Office spokesman has said today, “We have seen media reports that some people who associated themselves with Daesh have been arrested and investigations are going on.”
He said we have alerted our security agencies to threats posed by Daesh. They will take necessary action if required.
He was of the view that Pakistan has joined the thirty-four countries coalition against terrorism and the extent of our participation will be decided in the light of additional information that we have sought from Saudi Arabia.
