SUKKUR: A terrorist who was killed by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) during snap checking at a check post near Sukkur on Sunday night, has been identified Kamran Bhatti, ARY News reported.
Kamran Jamshed Bhatti was reportedly affiliated with the Naeem Bukhari faction of Lashkar-i-Jhangvi (LeJ).
The CTD personnel at Sukkur-Shikarpur link road signalled three men on motorcycle to stop on which the bike riding armed men opened fire at them.
In retaliation,CTD cops gunned down Bhatti while two others managed to flee from the scene.
He was suspected of involvement in several incidents relating to terrorism including 2014 Karachi airport attack, the Mehran Naval Base attack, and the murder of Karachi’s prominent police officer Chaudhry Aslam.
Heavy cache of arms and ammunition including explosive material and a hand gun were also seized in a search operation in the area to apprehend fleeing militants.
